His Excellency – Mr. President

Commander-in-Chief Federal Republic of Nigeria,
His Excellency – The Executive Governor of Lagos State
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
My Spiritual Father and Mentor,
Prophet Cyril O. Ebenuwa
Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen
Greetings to you all in Jesus name. I feel so happy and blissful to have everyone seated in this great occasion of my magazine launch It is indeed first of its kind in the history of the country.
I am happy because we are here today to witness another epoch event that cannot be forgotten in history. I really give God the glory for safe trip (To and Fro).
The Writers College which I founded on the 15th of February, 2019 by the Corporate Affairs Commission and recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria has come along way. The College was set up to help people and students to follow their passion and dreams in creative writing and Journalism. We have been able to give a well written and high-quality course materials. We have our lecturers and students across the globe studying online.
We offer courses in Creative Writing, Journalism, English Grammar, Public Speaking, Adult Education etc. We are grateful to have our partnership Agreement with Ghana Association of Young Writers, Agege Pulse Magazine, The Writers Corner, Profession of Journalism School of Liberia. The Alimosho Mail, Young Writer’s Guide, Creative Young Writers Association, Ghana. World Mobile Educational System Florida, and the Chartered Institute of Educational Practitioner, UK where I am serving currently as their Lagos Coordinator. Our major challenges now include infrastructural facilities, Building complexes to be precise.
Without mincing words, let me say here that the College has indeed given birth to this wonderful magazine which is publisher by The Humane Global Network. The Writers Magazine has come to stay and our aim is to educate, inform, and entertain as the fourth estate of the realm.
The magazine being a quarterly magazine has been registered and submitted to the National Library of Nigeria with an ISSN number.
Moreover, permit me to say here that this magazine will adhere to best media practices for the development of Nigeria and her people. We shall report and write what is factual without compromise and being sentiment. The magazine though independent will have no bias for any particular group or individual.
I also want to use this medium to honour our past and present heroes in the media profession who has made impact in the world of journalism and creative writing.
It is no doubt that they have left an indelible mark for the rest of us to tread upon. To mention but a few, Lateef Jakande, one time editor and Managing Director of Nigerian Tribune, Late Chief M. K O Abiola A Nigerian publisher, Bisi Onabanjo, Babatunde Jose, Sam Amuka, Segun Osoba, Herbert Macaulay, Ernest Ikoli, Funmi Iyanda, Late Chinua Achebe, Our own Mr. Lekan Otunfodunrin, Mr. Lanre Arogundade IPC, Lagos, Jennifer Ehindimen, Simon Ateba, Publisher of Today News Africa, Washington DC, Mr. Gracious Akintayo, Linda Ikeji, Professor Wole Soyinka, Mr. Kayode of Province Community, Newspaper, Mr. Femi Adesina, then the M.D of Sun Newspaper but now the special adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chimamanda Adichie, and many others.
Interestingly, I must also say here that before I do not feel confident enough to attempt writing a novel, a play, articles, poems, a book on my own until I got trained at the Nigeria Institute and World English Institute, U.S.A
Ladies and Gentlemen, you will agree with me that the only we can change our world despites the hazard of the profession is when we begin to write the wrongs in the society because in journalism, Pen is Mightier than Sword.
Thank you for your time and attention. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless you all.
Amb. Dr Chiemeka Chiedozie.
